Woodletter Furniture and Custom Made Designs

Incorporating wooden type into furniture provides an attractive and practical way of showing off our printing heritage. The range of woodletter furniture includes coffee tables, mirors and table lamps, each one unique and a talking point. Click on any of the images on this page for a better view.

The Old Printing Shop can craft large collages of woodletters suitable for wall hangings or table tops. We can also provide a thick glass surface and solid brass corners if required. It is also possible to construct a table base made from printers typecases glued and screwed together to provide a solid support.

Mirrors with wood type borders fit well in many surroundings and we have four different shapes and sizes. The mirrors themselves are excellent quality and have bevelled edges, while the letters are cleaned and polished and framed by wood from printers' type cases. The mirrors are unique and very individual.

These table lamps reveal the wooden type lettering at its best, the angle of the light showing off each letter in bold relief and picking out the colours and grain of the different woods used for each letter. There are two sizes: medium (shown right) at £130 and tall (left) at £190, both mounted on sturdy wooden bases. The lamps are supplied with flex but without fittings or lampshade, so you can select the appropriate style for yourself.
