Bookbinding Tools

Bookbinding tools Bookbinding tools are used to emboss leather or fabric covers, but our customers frequently use them to personalise books by stamping a pattern or initial on the flyleaf, or simply as a frank underneath the signature on a letter. Click on the image on the right for a better view of some of the patterns available.

Woodcuts

Woodcuts Woodcuts are similar to wooden printing blocks, but rather than attaching a copper or alloy image to a wooden block, the image is carved directly into the surface of a piece of wood. This is a difficult process and a skilled craftsman with a good block of wood can create fine detail and excellent images. We always have a varied range of woodcuts available - please contact us for details. Click on the image on the left for a closer view of a few examples.

Specimen Sheets

Specimen sheets are high quality examples of different typefaces. Great care is taken by the typesetter and printer to ensure first class results, each page typically showing a complete alphabet and a piece of text, possibly in several weights. We have a number of specimen sheets for different typefaces, mounted on card and ready for framing.
